Viagra and sanctity of marriage
the Super Bowl’s commercials will very likely prove the main event, and the show Sunday features a high-stakes ad-agency bout: For the first time, two prescription drugs for erectile dysfunction, Levitra and Cialis, will square off in the quest to grab a piece of the Viagra action. Who doesn’t want to Monday-morning quarterback their double entendres?
We’ve come a long way from Bob Dole, baby. Total sales for the three drugs approached $1.3 billion last year - a market that indexes not just erectile but marital dysfunction.

LAS VEGAS HOTELS CANCELING SUPER BOWL PARTIES
(01-31-2004) - Some of Las Vegas' biggest hotel-casinos are canceling Super Bowl parties and handing out refunds to thousands of guests after the NFL threatened legal action against those who broadcast the big game on big-screen TVs.
Several hotels received letters last week informing them that their parties were "unauthorized use of NFL intellectual property."
NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said the league only recently became aware of these large-scale parties planned in Las Vegas and elsewhere around the country.
Cooper, Smart form special bond
HOUSTON - The national media getting its first exposure to the Panthers in the past few days has begun to figure out what habitues of the Carolina locker room have known all season: kick returner Rod Smart and safety Jarrod Cooper might be the NFL's answer to Cheech and Chong.
So is Cooper He Hate Me's straight man, or is it the other way around?
``Depends on what day it is,'' said Cooper, who forged his bond with Smart in special teams meetings.
When a wayward television reporter asked Cooper how his name is pronounced, he replied: ``Take your pick. I'm mixed. My mother is white and my father was black.
Big bucks will be bet on big game
"Christiansen Capital Advisors estimates that $375 million to $400 million will be wagered online for the Super Bowl," David Carruthers, chief executive officer of BetonSports.com in Costa Rica, said in a telephone interview. "We will take in excess of 150,000 calls on Sunday."
The average wager at Betonsports.com is $111 per customer. The company has 700 different ways to bet on the game, ranging from which advertisement is the most popular to who catches the first pass.
Legal betting in Las Vegas on the Super Bowl pulled in nearly $72 million last year.
Plenty of local sports fans will be plunking down some cash on the game, too.
