Don't Watch the Super Bowl! © 2004, John H. Farr Easy for me to say, I haven't watched in over ten years -- only made me feel like used toilet paper. But for the rest of you, here's a good reason to boycott CBS entirely. This is from the Daily Kos: "A spokesman for CBS said the Viacom-owned network has received the request from MoveOn to run the ad in the Super Bowl, but added that the ad has to go through standards and practices before CBS will say if it can run an advocacy ad during the game. The spokesman said he didn't think it was likely that the spot would pass standards and practices." That's right, CBS has all but said it won't run the MoveOn ad. So much for trying to to play fair. Sometimes I think the bad guys want us all angry & out in the streets so they can throw half the country into jail.

Brady's Super Bowl Star Shining Bright in Houston
...It seems that winning a Super Bowl and leading your team back to the NFL championship game for the second time in three years...... ethic and punishing defenses but devoid of marquee names, Brady's star has shone bright in Houston, prompting increasing comparisons to the former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Joe Montana....
Flights canceled - one to Florida - amid new terror concerns
WASHINGTON - Six flights from England, Scotland and France bound for the United States - including one to Florida - were canceled Saturday because of security concerns. The U.S. government said it had fresh indications of al-Qaida's continued interest in targeting commercial planes flying to the United States.
British Airways grounded the same flight scheduled Sunday and Monday from London's Heathrow Airport to Dulles International Airport outside Washington, as well as the return flights. Also canceled was a flight from London to Miami on Sunday.

The Super Bowl of Advertising Returns
Friday, January 30, 2004
TAMPA, FL - Those bike- building dudes from "American Chopper" will tout America Online. Miss Piggy and Jessica Simpson will represent Pizza Hut. Willie Nelson will sing the praises of H&R Block, and Cedric the Entertainer and the famous Budweiser Clydesdales will pitch beer.
Look for former quarterback Joe Theismann to call Charmin the "best paper for your end zone" and former coach Mike Ditka to sell help for erectile dysfunction.
It's back. The Super Bowl of advertising returns Sunday.
Who's playing? Who cares? Super Bowl much more than a game
Associated Press HOUSTON You may be wondering the smiling lady said just exactly what the NFL Breathe-Right nasal strips and snoring all have in common. To tell the truth nobody really was wondering. The 100 or so people at the publicity event more or less accepted the fact that the marriage between the three was legit.

Less than 24 hours before the center opened to the public, the BU junior walked through the glass doors of the center, and past piles of sawdust and a construction worker putting the finishing touches on the green roof. A sold-out crowd is expected to attend this afternoon's basketball game against Hartford.
Friday, construction workers put a final shine on the gray center railings of the $33.1 million facility.

HOUSTON - Let's see. It's an even-numbered year, so Ricky Proehl must be back in the Super Bowl, right?
``Thirty-four, thirty-six, thirty-eight,'' Proehl said. ``I don't know if I'll be around for 40.''
The Carolina wide receiver will celebrate his 37th birthday next month, but for the third time in five years, Proehl had to phone tournament director Nick Nicolosi last week to announce that he was withdrawing from the Super Bowl Golf Classic. He has something else to do this weekend.
